Move over Frances, here comes Ivan

ivanJust as Florida gets over the devastation from the one, two punch of Charlie and Frances, Ivan rapidly gained strength on Sunday, and can be expected to make landfall early next week. The warm waters allowed Ivan on Sunday to grow to a category 3 hurricane and seems to be on track to Florida. The two storms hitting Florida in one year, and only weeks apart, seems to be an anomaly to some, but top scientists have a different opinion. "Over the past few years, we've seen an increasing trend toward greater activity in the Atlantic Basin and increased strength in storms," says Marshall Shepherd, a research meteorologist at NASA, and others are pointing the finger at global warming. These massive storms one after another, may be a glimpse of what is to come in the future.
